Artificial intelligence Awareness Award
Artificial Intelligence is all around us. This year, AIClub is sponsoring an AI Challenge, asking K12 students to create a 30-60 second video submission, directed at their peers, about how AI is used in their daily lives or how AI is being used to help humans.
Competition Winner!
There is no technology that will impact the future than artificial intelligence. AIClub believes every student should understand artificial intelligence and undertake to master it in school. We created this award to celebrate that work being done. The AI system from Echo Horizon School was built to help elementary students overcome the anxiety from the move to middle school. This is "Codex AI".
The Codex artificial intelligence system is designed to help ease the stress our 6th graders have about middle school. It will offer suggestions to students on
how to navigate through anxious and stressful times. Codex is ever-evolving and is a work in progress. Codex has a sub-system to encourage students that need a boost in morale. Codex was designed to have “human-esque” interactions. It will collect vital information on anxiety and stress that will then be given to our
school counselor so they can take another step in helping students that are overly anxious.
We designed Codex using the Python coding language. As we were
creating this system, we faced a few obstacles. First, we wanted a programming environment where the three of us could collaborate, like in Google Docs. We settled on a free website called codecollab.io. However, the free website’s compiler kept breaking down.
