Our Approach - the 4 C's of AI Literacy
AIClub's founders have a unique mix of technical knowledge, real-world industry experience, K-12 teaching experience, and entrepreneurship experience. Our team is a fusion of exceptional talent with PhDs in Computer Science from prestigious institutions like UC Berkeley and Harvard. Comprising both seasoned CTOs from multi-billion dollar corporations and educators with decades of K-12 teaching expertise, our collective AI experience spans over 20 year.. We have combined this knowledge to create a unique approach to AI Literacy - the 4 C's.

AI Literacy
AI Literacy is the ability to understand what Artificial Intelligence is, understand its role in our lives, and apply this knowledge to solve problems. Kids who learn AI are in a better position to pursue a variety of careers, not just in computer science. They are able to understand how AI will impact future jobs in all industries, and be able to apply their AI knowledge whether they become a computer scientist, a doctor, a lawyer, an artist etc.
The 4 C's of AI Literacy
The four Cs are Concepts, Context, Capability and Creativity. Watch the video below to see how they combine for a comprehensive understanding of AI
How we use the 4 C's in our teaching
We apply the 4 C's in all of our classes. In each class, kids learn new AI Concepts. They also learn how AIs apply these concepts in real life. The usage examples that we teach depend on the course level - more advanced courses cover advanced usages of AI such as in Healthcare and Finance. Basic courses cover more common usages that kids know like Digital Assistants, Self-Driving cars etc. In every class, students learn how to build AIs, with more advanced courses directly using code. Every class has a custom project, where the student creates an innovation entirely of their choice to demonstrate what they have learned.
Concepts
Core concepts of AI. What is A? how does it work? What different types are there? How can it be measured and improved? How does it use data?
Context
How are AIs used in real life? How do AIs like Alexa, Self-Driving Cars, Recommendations etc. work? How are they built?
Capability
How do you build your own AIs?
How should you interact with AIs in your life?
How can you create an AI to solve a problem?
Creativity
What can you do with AI? How can you bring your creativity and imagination come to life?
What cool new apps can you build?
How do we know it works?
The proof is in the results! See what our students have accomplished below!
