Why should students study this?
AI is a critical skill for future jobs. Students that learn AI early can use this skill to develop their knowledge of computer science, demonstrate entrepreneurship, and solve real-world problems. What is covered in the 8th grade CBSE curriculum?
In the 8th grade curriculum, students develop a conceptual understanding of AI and how it is used. They learn to appreciate Human-Machine interactions, how AI can benefit humanity and the issues of AI Ethics.
What is covered in the 9th/10th grade CBSE curriculum?
In the 9th and 10th grade CBSE curriculum, students learn what AI is and how it is used today. They learn about uses of AIs in industries such as Smart Cities, Smart Schools and Smart Homes. They learn how AI works through a series of online exercises and games. They learn the lifecycle of an AI project, how AIs are built inside companies, and how AI is used by entrepreneurs to create successful startups.
What is covered in the 11th/12th grade CBSE curriculum?
In 11th and 12th grade, students learn AI concepts at more depth. They learn the differences between conventional programming and AI and when to use either or both. Algorithms are explored in more depth, starting with Linear Regression and least squares. Students also learn how to understand data, including data storytelling and visualization. Types of AI algorithms are explored, from supervised learning to unsupervised learning, and students learn how to measure the performance of AIs.
